Job summary

Harris Health seeks a Virtual Patient Observation Technician to monitor patients in real time, redirect at-risk behavior, and coordinate with nursing staff for interventions. This role supports safety, documentation, and quality initiatives within a busy clinical environment.

Candidate should have a high school diploma, Texas nursing assistant certification or MA certification, and two years of clinical experience, with flexibility for weekend/holiday shifts and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or the equivalent plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Licensure/Certification: Texas Nursing Assistant Certification; or Medical Assistant Certification from AMT/AAMA/NCCT/NHA/NAHP and BLS.
• Work Experience: Two (2) years related clinical experience.
• Related specialty experience preferred (e.g., direct patient care, virtual observation, telemetry technician, hospital environment).
• Equipment Operated: Basic computer, wireless telephone, intercom/headset communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant, real-time video monitoring of assigned patients to enhance safety.
• Verbally redirect patients from at-risk behaviors.
• Directly communicate with nursing staff if the patient needs further intervention or assistance.
• Practice safety measures and document observations according to standards.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives; engage in ServiceFirst behaviors and Language of Caring.
