Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with defense/mission-critical systems preferred.
• Experience evolving software architecture and managing technical debt in production.
• At least 2+ years on a single codebase, extending it over time.
• Strong grasp of design patterns and scalable systems.
• Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, Python; Matlab is a plus; security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Define and guide a small team focused on tracking and state estimation.
• Architect, maintain, and optimize complex software systems for real-time use.
• Prototype and deploy cutting-edge tracking algorithms with multi-sensor fusion.
• Develop high-performance Rust software for real-time and simulation environments.
• Design robust filters and probabilistic reasoning for noisy sensor data.
• Apply best practices to reduce technical debt and evolve production systems.
• Analyze performance with simulations and statistics to validate benefits.
• Customize algorithms for mission-critical use cases to ensure customer success.
• Integrate tracking tech into the full SDLC from requirements to testing.
• Translate progress into actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
