Job summary

Anduril Industries in Massachusetts is hiring a senior software engineer to shape the vision and architecture of cutting-edge target tracking and state estimation systems. You’ll lead a small team, refactor complex codebases, and deploy high-performance Rust software for real-time applications and simulations.

You will work across multi-sensor fusion, probabilistic reasoning, and scalable software design while leveraging expertise in Rust, C/C++, and Python.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience and a technical degree.
• Experience refactoring legacy systems and reducing technical debt.
• At least 2+ years on a single codebase, expanding it as requirements evolve.
• Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, Python; Matlab is a plus.
• Strong mathematics and signal processing knowledge; ability to work with sensor data.

Responsibilities

• Define and influence the direction of a small team, leveraging expertise in target tracking and state estimation.
• Architect, maintain, and evolve complex software systems, refactoring legacy codebases for performance and scalability.
• Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for tracking, sensor fusion, and state estimation in agile environments.
• Develop high-performance Rust software for real-time systems and simulations.
• Design and implement robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning systems for noisy data.
• Apply design patterns and best practices to manage technical debt and evolve production systems.
• Analyze system performance with simulations and statistics to validate benefits.
• Drive customer success by customizing algorithms for mission-critical use cases.
