Job summary

Texas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. is seeking a System Operator to ensure safe, reliable operation of the electric distribution system using OMS, SCADA, and related tools. The role supports real-time operations, outage response, and service restoration.

You'll work in rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays) with 8–12 hour shifts, possibly 16 hours during storms, collaborating with field personnel, engineers, and other departments to maintain system reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and equipment.
• Proficiency with computer systems and business software applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the electric distribution system through SCADA, OMS, and related control systems.
• Coordinate outage response, service restoration, switching activities, and emergency operations.
• Support continuous 24/7 control room operations through rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Direct available resources during outages, storms, and major events.
