South Plains Electric Cooperative is looking for a System Operator Trainee to join our Operations team in Texas. The role focuses on monitoring and controlling the distribution system, coordinating field crews, and responding to outages and emergencies.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong computer skills, and the ability to learn SCADA/OMS software. The position requires flexibility for 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control distribution system to ensure reliability.
• Coordinate field crews and dispatch during outages and emergencies.
• Maintain logs and records of system events.
• Provide after-hours member service support including outage inquiries and service requests.
• Communicate effectively with field supervisors and personnel during operations.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
