Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative in Texas is seeking a control operations professional to coordinate switching and tagging, issue clearances to field teams, and monitor loads with SCADA/OMS systems. The role emphasizes safe, accurate procedures and timely outage reporting.

You will work with dispatchers, engineers and crews to maintain reliability and coordinate restoration efforts, including after-hours on-call and shift work in a secure control room environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of using computer systems, hardware and software.
• Understand SCADA host system and switching requirements.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code and utility procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, direct switching and tagging; issue clearances for field personnel.
• Monitor loads, emergency restoration and reporting for the electric grid.
• Provide direction during 24/7 restoration and outages; support dispatchers and field crews.
• Prepare switching orders and ensure adherence to safety and procedures.
• Maintain system data, generate daily reports and analyze outages.
• Operate SCADA and OMS systems; validate data for system integrity.
