Job summary

RTX, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks an embedded software engineer to join the Space and RF Sensors Software team. You will design, code, and test real-time embedded software for advanced radar, sensor, guidance, and fire-control systems.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust solutions that safeguard national security. The role emphasizes participation in all SDLC phases, CI/CD practices, and secure coding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited institution; degree by start date.
• Experience developing and testing/debugging software using C, C++, or similar OO language.
• Real-time embedded software development experience.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Experience in team-based development with good communication.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and collaborate to provide innovative solutions.
• Participate in all phases of the SW development lifecycle; SW/HW integration as needed.
• Assist in deriving system and software requirements, modeling, and analysis.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document real-time embedded software for RF and radar applications.
• Participate in software peer reviews and technical decision-making with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support program execution to meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
• Follow established software development processes to maintain product integrity.
