Job summary

RTX is seeking a software engineer to join the Space and RF Sensors Software team for real-time embedded applications in radar and sensor systems. You will design, code, test, and integrate software across the lifecycle, contributing to advanced defense technologies and legacy system improvements.

The role requires a STEM degree, proficiency in C/C++, Python, and experience with real-time embedded development. Onsite work in El Segundo, with opportunities to grow in a higher-security environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM from accredited institution.
Experience developing, and testing or debugging software using C, C++, or similar object-oriented programming language.
Real time embedded software development experience.
Familiarity with Python scripting.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
Experience developing software in a team-based development environment with good teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real-time embedded software solutions with RF/radar focus.
Work across all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
Assist in deriving system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis.
Participate in software peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decisions with multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure work products meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
