Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a talented path planning software engineer to join the Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software team in the United States. You will contribute to developing advanced path planning, trajectory optimization, and autonomous routing for mission-critical C2 systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling.
• Experience in C/C++ and/or Rust.
• Knowledge of path planning techniques: A*, D* Lite, RRT, RRT*, PRM.
• Experience in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC); trajectory optimization.
• Strong mathematics: linear algebra, optimization, computational geometry, graph theory.
• Vehicle dynamics and control theory for autonomous platforms.
• Familiarity with map representations, terrain reasoning, and geospatial data handling.
• Exposure to machine learning in planning and decision-making.
• Ability to write robust, concurrent code for planning under uncertainty.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a small, collaborative team on path planning and routing within Command and Control software.
• Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for global/local path planning, trajectory optimization, and multi-agent coordination.
• Develop online real-time path planning that replans safely as conditions change.
• Design and develop high-performance software for real-time C2 systems on field platforms with asynchronous programming.
• Implement robust planners and decision-making systems for safe, feasible routes in dynamic environments.
• Analyze system performance using simulations, modeling tools, and statistics.
• Support customer success with algorithms for mission-critical autonomous use cases.
• Integrate planning technologies into the C2 stack from requirements through testing.
• Translate progress into clear insights for stakeholders.
