Responsibilities

• Learn to inspect residential real property and record technical details to update property records.
• Learn to prepare and conduct appeal hearings to defend the Department's estimate of value.
• Record technical data into the AAVS and maintain property records.
• Interview property owners by phone and in person to gather information and explain valuation methods.
• Analyze market data and apply standard appraisal techniques to determine value.
• Inspect new residential construction and determine value for additions to assessment rolls.
