Job summary

Henry County Schools in Stockbridge, GA is seeking a Title I Tutor to provide in-person tutoring in areas of greatest need. The role emphasizes differentiated instruction to help students grasp challenging concepts and to collaborate with classroom teachers on individual student needs.

You will engage students, support study skill development, establish rapport, and maintain progress records, with evaluations provided to the Title I Department.

Qualifications

• Georgia teaching certificate (may qualify with expired certificate).
• Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and strong professional reputation.
• Adherence to the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Reliability at work and at the physical worksite.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods.
• Bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to supervise students safely, especially during emergencies.
• Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide supplemental, in-person tutoring/academic assistance in the student’s area of greatest need.
• Use differentiated instruction tailored to students' unique learning needs.
• Collaborate with the student’s teacher concerning academic needs, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Engage students in appropriate academic activities.
• Help students develop strong study skills.
• Establish and maintain rapport with students.
• Maintain records of student progress.
• Provide evaluations and other reports as requested by Title I Department.
• Participate in scheduled meetings.
• Monitor progress and analyze data to tailor instruction based on students' needs.
