Job summary

Henry County Schools is seeking an Title I Tutor to provide in-person tutoring and academic support. The role requires tailoring instruction to students’ needs and collaborating with classroom teachers to address gaps.

The tutor will monitor progress, maintain records, and prepare evaluations for the Title I Department. Schedule is as needed, with a focus on student success and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Adherence to the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Reliability and regular attendance at the worksite.
• Capability to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to supervise students, especially during emergencies.
• Strong written, verbal and visual/aural communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person tutoring/academic assistance in areas of greatest need.
• Use differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to address student needs, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Engage students in appropriate academic activities and develop study skills.
• Establish rapport and monitor student progress.
• Provide evaluations and progress reports to Title I Department.
• Attend scheduled meetings and analyze data to tailor instruction.
