Job summary

Henry County Schools in Georgia is seeking a Title I Tutor to provide in-person tutoring aligned with the district’s priorities. You will tailor instruction to each student’s needs, work with teachers to address gaps, and help students build strong study skills.

You will maintain progress records and reports for the Title I Department, participate in meetings, and support emergency supervision as needed. Reliability and ethical conduct are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Georgia teaching certificate (may qualify with expired certificate).

Position Title: Title I Tutor

Work Days: As Needed

Essential Duties:

• Provide supplemental, in-person tutoring/academic assistance in the student's area or areas of greatest need.
• Use differentiated instruction tailored to students' unique learning needs, helping them grasp challenging concepts.
• Collaborate with the student's teacher concerning student academic needs, strengths, and weaknesses and how best to meet the student's needs.
• Engage students in appropriate academic activities.
• Help students develop strong study skills.
• Establish and maintain rapport with students.
• Maintain records of student progress.
• Provide evaluations and other reports as requested by the Title I Department.
• Participate in scheduled meetings.
• Monitor progress and analyze data to tailor instruction based on the students' specific needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate. (May qualify with an expired teaching certificate.)
• Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
• Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work and at the physical worksite.
• Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
• Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
