Job summary

Ampact is seeking Reading Corps Reading Tutors to work with students in local schools to improve literacy. You will lead tutoring sessions, follow a schedule, and track progress with an on-site coach while using data systems to record scores.

As part of AmeriCorps Reading Corps, you will receive training and coaching, helping you grow professionally and contribute to community education efforts. This full-time/part-time on-site role includes a biweekly stipend and education awards opportunity.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule.
• Track student progress with the on-site coach.
• Enter student scores in data software after skill assessments.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
