Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to help students become strong readers at a local Fresno-area school. You'll receive training to deliver proven activities and coaching every step.

Each school day you’ll tutor pairs for 20 minutes, track progress with an onsite coach, and repeat until all students are served. This AmeriCorps role includes a stipend, education benefits, and a Monday–Friday schedule for 2026–2027.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Dependable with a history of good attendance and reliability.
• Able to use email and basic online tools.
• Able to follow instructions and implement feedback.
• Able to complete a background check successfully.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
