Job summary

Reading Corps, operated by Ampact, is seeking a Reading Tutor to help students become strong readers in local schools. You'll deliver proven activities, coach students 20 minutes at a time, and return pairs to class while preparing the next group for tutoring.

You'll receive training, ongoing support from an onsite coach, and opportunities to grow professionally. The role includes a daytime schedule, Monday–Friday, with part-time options available.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
