Job summary

Reading Corps, powered by Ampact, seeks Reading Tutors to help students build reading skills in local schools. You’ll deliver 20 minutes of reading practice to pairs of students each day, guided by coaches, with training provided.

This AmeriCorps role emphasizes growth, coaching, and community impact. We offer a flexible schedule during the 2026-27 school year, with full- and part-time options, daytime hours, and a biweekly paycheck.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States; able to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
