Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking a Reading Tutor to work with students in local schools, delivering proven activities and coaching as part of the AmeriCorps program. You'll tutor pairs for 20 minutes daily and track progress with an onsite coach.

We provide training, a daytime schedule Monday–Friday during the school year, with full-time stipends of $17.50 per hour and health insurance, childcare assistance, and education benefits.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing).
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
