Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is hiring Reading Tutors to work at local schools, delivering 20 minutes of reading practice to pairs of students each day. Full-time positions are available, with 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during daytime school hours. Part-time options at 27.5 or 20 hours per week are also offered.

Training and coaching support will be provided throughout the year. Stipends are paid biweekly for AmeriCorps members, with education awards available.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online).

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
