Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps seeks Reading Tutors to work in local schools, delivering proven reading activities and coaching students to improve literacy. You’ll tutor 20-minute sessions with pairs of students each school day and track progress with a school coach.

Positions run for the 2026-27 year (January 2027–June 2027). Compensation includes a biweekly stipend, health insurance, and education benefits; part-time options are available with weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications include reliability, attendance, and the ability to follow feedback.
• Proficiency with basic email and online navigation is required.
• Fluency in English for speaking, reading and writing is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for consistent support.
• Track student progress and meet with the onsite coach regularly.
• Enter student scores into data software and conduct skill assessments.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
• Share experience with the community.
