Job summary

Tooele County School District seeks a Support Professional Aide to assist certified staff in literacy development and student support at Anna Smith Elementary School. You will work under supervision to reinforce reading and language arts, supervise groups, and aid in materials preparation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with options for an Associate's degree or 48 college credits, or passing MasterTeacher exams within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Education and experience meeting Title I paraprofessional requirements are considered.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; submit evidence with the application.
• One of: Associate's degree, 48 college credits, or MasterTeacher exam within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist students to reinforce reading and language arts skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basics.
• Assist staff with administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Help prepare instructional materials and strategies for individual needs.
• Document student learning and performance in records.
• Support classroom behavior management for a safe, on-task environment.
• Supervise playground or lunchroom as needed.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement.
• Follow safety rules for students, including those with disabilities.

Education
