Job summary

Charles County Public Schools is seeking an instructional support paraprofessional to assist the literacy teacher in elementary classrooms. You will help plan activities, reinforce instruction, and help maintain a safe, orderly learning environment.

With an associate degree, 48 college credits, or ParaPro scores, you will work closely with teachers to support student progress and development. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in an instructional support role with elementary students.
• Experience with children.
• Developmental knowledge of children.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities per literacy teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in planning instructional activities and maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
• Work with individuals or small groups to provide instructional reinforcement after the literacy teacher delivers the instruction.
• Assist the teacher in making preparations for a lesson.
• Performs related duties as assigned by the principal.
• Required to provide substitute coverage as needed.
