Job summary

Tooele County School District seeks a K-2 Classroom Support Aide at Northlake Elementary School (High-Needs School) in Utah. Under supervision of a certified staff member, you will assist with students to meet instructional goals and handle non-professional duties such as behavior supports and progress monitoring.

You will reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics and social-emotional learning, supervise lunch and field trips, and support materials preparation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of college level coursework or passing of exam as required by NCLB.

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, social-emotional, and other skills.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assists staff with administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials.
• Keeps records documenting student learning and behavior.
• Supports classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Supervises students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, study hall).
• Accompanies students on field trips to assist supervision.
• Aids teacher with parent contact to foster involvement.
• Follows safety rules and supports students with disabilities or special needs.
