Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Literacy Specialist to work on-site at a campus and help K–3 students reach daily reading goals. You will diagnose decoding gaps using running records, design short sequences, and guide students through structured sessions each day, staying with them through lunch and routines.

You’ll train with evidence-based literacy methods and join a growing network of campuses across the country. This role emphasizes hands-on coaching and app-based learning to close gaps.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4–9 in teaching, coaching, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K–3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Willing to work on-site with relocation support.
• Bachelor's degree required; teaching certificate not required.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning and diagnosing gaps.
• Leading short structured literacy sessions for small groups.
• Carrying out morning launches and campus routines.
• Driving students toward weekly goals using incentives and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch and recess, crafting plans for frustrated learners.
