Zusammenfassung

Amgen is seeking a Rare Disease Key Account Manager in the United States (North Carolina) to reduce time to diagnosis, identify eligible patients, and improve speed to treatment by partnering with key stakeholders in targeted health systems and clinics. You will lead contract discussions, optimize buy-and-bill operations, and enable sites of care to ensure access and continuity of therapy.

The role requires strong collaboration with field teams and cross-functional partners to address barriers

Aufgaben

  • Assess access, operational, economic, and care-delivery barriers in assigned accounts to improve diagnosis and treatment speed.
  • Develop and execute account plans aligned to customer priorities, including portfolio goals, patient access, site-of-care flow, and treatment continuity.
  • Build stakeholder maps and engage clinical leaders, administrators, pharmacy, finance, revenue cycle, procurement, infusion operations, and care coordinators through proactive calls with key stakeholders.
  • Translate account data and insights into clear opportunity hypotheses, action plans, and performance reviews of sites.
  • Lead contracting opportunities and support compliant negotiation and execution for assigned accounts.
  • Identify and address barriers related to contracting, membership, ordering, distribution channels, formulary or pathway decisions, and product availability.
  • Partner with market access, pricing, trade, reimbursement, and legal/compliance colleagues to support durable access solutions.
  • Support account business reviews that assess contract performance, patient access, operational readiness, and opportunities.
  • Evaluate buy-and-bill workflows, including acquisition, inventory, benefit verification, prior authorization, coding, billing, payment, and financial risk points.
  • Work with clinics and internal partners to identify improvements in reimbursement readiness, inventory practices, ordering processes, and patient financial navigation.
  • Engage sites of care through education, workflow support, and coordinated resources that strengthen readiness to initiate and maintain therapy.
  • Help customers diagnose operational gaps delaying treatment, including referral handoffs, scheduling, infusion capacity, care coordination, and post-initiation follow-up.
  • Coordinate field execution with sales, medical, patient services, market access, trade, analytics, and brand partners.
  • Provide timely, actionable field insights into customer needs, reimbursement trends, and operational barriers with matrix colleagues.
  • Monitor account performance and adapt priorities to deliver against agreed objectives in a compliant manner.
  • Maintain accurate account plans, account affiliations, activity records, and opportunity documentation in required systems.
  • Lead matrix planning and follow-through for priority account initiatives, clarifying partner roles, decision points, owners, and timelines.
