Job summary

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. is seeking an Area Business Lead, Rare Disease to oversee a team of six Rare Disease Account Managers and drive regional strategies in the United States.

You will partner with Medical, Market Access, PELs and RAMs to develop dynamic business plans, engage KOLs, physicians, payers, and IDNs, and ensure patient-centric outcomes while meeting growth targets. This role requires leadership, strategic thinking and deep disease area knowledge in renal physiology and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years previous first line leadership experience in the Rare Disease space.
• Nephrology and/or Immunology leadership experience highly preferred.
• Rare Disease launch experience preferred.
• Proven coaching, training and mentoring track record.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed financial/quantitative targets.
• Strong organizational skills; multitasking in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated leadership of a high performing sales organization.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance, legal and regulatory landscape.
• Ability to motivate team and respond to dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Rare Disease Account Managers and oversee key accounts and stakeholders.
• Develop regional business plans aligned with national sales goals and resources.
• Collaborate with Medical, Market Access, and PEL/RAM teams to drive strategy.
• Foster relationships with KOLs, physicians, payers, and academic centers.
• Provide coaching and sales training to optimize selling and virtual engagement skills.
