Job summary

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. seeks an Area Business Lead, Rare Disease to coordinate with Medical, RAMs and PELs, leading a team of six Rare Disease Account Managers and guiding key accounts to growth.

The role reports to Senior Business Director and operates within guardrails to align strategy and execution. The candidate will shape regional plans and ensure collaboration across multiple functions to accelerate patient access and outcomes.

Qualifications

• First-line leadership experience in the Rare Disease space.
• Nephrology or Immunology leadership experience preferred.
• Rare Disease launch experience preferred.
• Proven track record coaching, training and mentoring peers to meet or exceed goals.
• Well organized with multitasking in a dynamic, cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach Rare Disease Account Managers, guiding strategies with key accounts, KOLs and local advocacy groups.
• Oversee field team development plans and sales training to optimize selling and virtual engagement.
• Develop regional business plans aligned with national goals and available resources.
• Coordinate with Regional Sales Directors, brand marketers, market access, medical affairs and TLLs to drive objectives.
• Deeply understand competition and execute strategies to grow patient acquisition and revenue.
• Demonstrate scientific expertise in renal physiology and immunology to inform stakeholders.
• Foster patient-centric culture, accountability, collaboration, compliance, and high performance.
• Build relationships with KOLs, physicians, payers, and academic centers to gain product acceptance.
• Shape a culture balancing autonomy with support to meet goals and enable success.
• Partner on customer-centric marketing and promotional plans and ensure alignment across sales.
