Job summary

Ohio CAT is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver on-site, rapid-response service for Caterpillar equipment. The role focuses on immediate diagnostics, quick fault-code analysis, and temporary repairs to minimize customer downtime.

Work takes place in the field using a service pickup truck, with emphasis on safety and customer communication. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, hands-on diesel and earthmoving repair experience, and proficiency with CAT

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, plus a 2-year technical program in diesel or power equipment systems.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate, on-site support for equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Perform fast diagnostics and temporary repairs to keep machines operating until full repairs can be scheduled.
• Conduct electronic and hydraulic system checks and fault-code analysis with CAT tools.
• Update customers with status and recommendations; escalate major repairs as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and best practices.
