Job summary

Ohio CAT is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver on-site, rapid-response service for Caterpillar equipment. The role focuses on immediate diagnostics, quick fault-code analysis, and temporary repairs to minimize customer downtime.

Work takes place in the field using a service pickup truck, with emphasis on safety and customer communication. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, hands-on diesel and earthmoving repair experience, and proficiency with CAT

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required, plus a 2-year technical program in diesel or power equipment systems.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

Provide immediate, on-site support for equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Perform fast diagnostics and temporary repairs to keep machines operating until full repairs can be scheduled.
Conduct electronic and hydraulic system checks and fault-code analysis with CAT tools.
Update customers with status and recommendations; escalate major repairs as needed.
Adhere to safety procedures and best practices.
