Job summary

Ohio CAT is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver on-site, rapid-response support for urgent equipment issues. You will diagnose, repair, and service Caterpillar equipment in the field, using CAT diagnostic tools and telematics hardware to minimize downtime.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience in diesel or heavy equipment, and a valid driver's license. You will work from a service vehicle and collaborate with shop and field teams to ensure safe,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus a 2-year technical school program in diesel or power equipment systems.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site field service for equipment breakdowns and urgent service needs to minimize downtime.
• Perform fast diagnostics and temporary repairs to keep machines running until full repairs can be scheduled.
• Use Caterpillar diagnostic tools to identify issues and perform ECM flash updates or configuration changes.
• Provide timely status updates and recommendations to customers.
• Escalate major repairs to shop or full field service teams as needed.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
