Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support fast-paced care in the ED. You will assist with EKGs, IV starts, venipunctures, CPR, and patient transport while ensuring accurate documentation and a safe environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork and adaptability, with shifts on nights and a 3, 12-hour schedule. Eligibility includes CNA or MA program graduation, EMT/Paramedic pathways, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program or related medical assistant program with accredited credentials.
• EMT/Paramedic pathways acceptable; licensure or certification as applicable.
• Ability to perform EKGs, IV starts, venipuncture, and CPR in a fast-paced ED.
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and meticulous documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care per routine and standards; document care
• Answer call lights, manage supplies, and maintain a clean environment
• Assist ED physicians with intubation and resuscitation using Lucas device
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, start IVs, venipunctures, splinting as directed
• Transport non-monitored patients to inpatient units; support charges processing
