Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support the ED team in delivering timely, high-quality care. The role involves assisting with EKGs, IV starts, venipunctures, CPR, patient transport, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include CNA, MA, or EMT/Paramedic training, CPR/BLS certification within 90 days, and a strong team orientation. Three 12-hour shifts weekly provided.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program.
• Education path may include ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited MA programs or equivalent regional/national accreditation.
• Graduate of an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic program.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as assigned per routine and standards.
• Answers call lights promptly and documents care provided.
• Maintains clean, stocked patient environments and processes orders accurately.
• Drives patient transport and documents medical records and charges.
• Assists with procedures (EKGs, IV starts, venipunctures, CPR, chest tube assistance) and supports ED team.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
