Job summary

Redeemer Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support nursing staff in a fast-paced ED. You will help with a range of technical and patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to monitor patient conditions and respond to treatments.

The role requires CPR and EMT/Parmedic credentials (preferred), and involves alternating shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EMT/Paramedic certification preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Health Aide Certificate or 2 years acute care experience.
• Previous clinical health care experience preferred.
• Must be available for alternating shifts.
• Phlebotomy and EKG procedures approval.
• Stroke education per unit protocol annually.
• Must complete orientation and competency validation within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with technical and patient care procedures in the Emergency Department.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with multidisciplinary team.
• Act as patient/customer advocate and represent the hospital to meet patient/family needs.
