Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Aviation Ground Handler to join our team at Plattsburgh International Airport. You will marshal aircraft, load cargo, operate ground support equipment, and coordinate with flight crews.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs and more, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. FAA/airport security awareness, teamwork, and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy baggage up to 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull cargo up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment.
• Ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Previous aviation or ground handling experience preferred.
• Familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout preferred.
• Knowledge of airport safety regulations and protocols preferred.
• Experience operating ground support equipment preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Willingness to join the Transport Workers Union and pay union dues.
