Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated airport ground handler to marshal aircraft and manage cargo operations. You will load/unload baggage, operate belt loaders, tugs, and baggage carts, and shuttle cargo between the terminal and aircraft. Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Applicants must have a HS Diploma or GED, be 18+, hold a valid license, and be fluent in English. TWU membership is required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay dues.
• Excellent English reading/writing and verbal communication.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying shifts including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Marshall aircraft on arrival and departure.
• Load and unload cargo and baggage.
• Operate ground support equipment safely (belt loaders, tugs, baggage carts).
• Transport cargo between terminal, warehouse, and aircraft.
• Sort baggage and connect/disconnect ground power units.
• Provide water service and assist aircraft pushback as needed.
• Maintain a secure, safe work environment.

Job description

• Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure
• Load and unload cargo and baggage on and off aircraft
• Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders, tugs, and baggage carts
• Pick up and deliver cargo and bags between the terminal, warehouse, and aircraft
• Sort and load baggage
• Connect and remove ground power and ground start units
• Perform water service
• Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking, and related guide man functions
• Maintain a secure work environment

Requirements

• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Must join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay union dues
• Good communications and language skills
• Ability to read, write, and fluently speak and understand English
• Ability to work in inclement weatherFlexible to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
