Job summary

JINYA Ramen Bar in Reston, VA is hiring for a BOH team member to support kitchen operations and guest satisfaction. This hourly role reports to Kitchen Manager and General Manager, with opportunities to advance. The position emphasizes teamwork, food quality, and efficient line execution.

Responsibilities include food prep, safety, sanitation, and collaboration with FOH. Must have English proficiency, relevant certifications, and be able to work weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year restaurant experience with knowledge of all kitchen equipment.
• Outstanding verbal and written skills; ability to multi-task.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions, memos and reminders.
• Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification.
• Ability to lead by example, inspire and motivate team members.
• Dependable and reliable; keep restaurant clean and presentable.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to recipe or Kitchen Manager instructions.
• Adhere to kitchen safety procedures and proper equipment use.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Follow health, safety and company policies and procedures.
• Engage with guests and team in a professional manner.
• Attend meetings and report to work at scheduled times.
• Provide menus and assist guests with special accommodations.
• Communicate clearly with staff across kitchen and dining areas.

• Complete projects as directed by managers.
