Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Field Service Technician in Chicago, IL to support SIEMENS VENTURE coaches. You will coordinate and perform service and maintenance activities, train customer personnel, and advise on maintenance techniques.

Setting a safe work environment and proactive customer support are required. 2nd & 3rd shifts, with approx. 10% travel, on-site collaboration with engineering and dispatch teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical technology or technical discipline, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.
• Strong English-language technical communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint).
• Travel for training – approximately 10%.
• Railroad rolling stock maintenance or related rail experience and FRA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive customer service experience with maintenance facility personnel.
• Deliver high-quality technical advice to improve equipment reliability.
• Triage and complete troubleshooting and repairs on service requests.
• Provide ongoing system operation training to customers.
• Identify non-conformances and recommend improvements.
• Assist local customer staff with troubleshooting and repair work.
• Communicate clearly between customer, Rail Support Center, and field team.
• Provide feedback on performance, quality, and efficiency.
• Coordinate with 3rd party vendors to ensure proper operation of vendor components.
