Job summary

Siemens Mobility seeks an entry-level Factory Commissioning Test Technician to join our Lexington, NC team on a 2nd shift schedule (Mon-Thu, 4:00pm–2:30am). You will commission, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on light rail, locomotives, and coaches.

We will train you to grow in this role, with opportunities to work on state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment while following safety standards and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or GED).
• 2+ years experience in electrical testing.
• Must be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, mechanical troubleshooting.
• Associate’s degree in engineering or mechatronics program education or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars
• Troubleshoot, document and repair electrical and mechanical failures
• Work with state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment.
• Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards.
• Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information.
• Have ability to work independently and among a team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds.
• Read, interpret and understand written or electronic schematics.
• Use PTU’s to troubleshoot various systems onboard light rail, locomotive and coach vehicles.
