Job summary

Temple and Central Texas Railway in Temple, TX seeks a supervising railway professional to coordinate train crews and yard switching operations. You will ensure safe, efficient car movements, read and act on orders, and maintain accurate reporting and crew records.

Qualifications

• Three years of trainman experience and current locomotive engineers and conductor’s certification.
• Knowledge of federal railroad regulations, guidelines and rules.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, procedures and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate train crews.
• Receive orders from Manager or Customer on which cars to switch.
• Direct switches and car movements using signals and radios.
• Manage cars online via reports and keep train lists accurate.
• Ensure all reporting, crew worksheets, and operations data are timely.
• Read and interpret locomotive event recorder data.
• Understand car hire and demurrage terms.
• Approve man-hours and forward to the necessary departments.
• Investigate accidents with causes and corrective actions.
• Understand track conditions and their effect on productivity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
