Job summary

Tectonic is seeking full-time Project Engineers / Assistant Resident Engineers to support MTA Transit projects and related rail initiatives in the New York area. The role is on-site in Forest Hills, NY, with responsibilities across design-build and construction oversight for rail systems, stations, and related facilities.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in rail transit, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, and the ability to manage field activities, review submittals, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience on rail transit projects.
• Strong ability to interpret plans and specifications for work orders and build documents.
• Experience in coordinating field teams and supervising inspectors and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional engineering and construction oversight on rail transit projects.
• Act as client’s representative in the field with contractors and vendors.
• Assist RE/PM with project coordination, QA/QC, and safety compliance.
• Review submittals, payments, and change orders; monitor schedule and cost.
• Ensure documentation and close-out per project requirements.
