Job summary

Tectonic Engineering seeks an experienced Office Engineer to support rail transit and NYCT projects in Forest Hills, NY. The position involves document control, submittal tracking, and coordination with owners and contractors to keep projects on schedule.

Required 3+ years on rail transit projects; a BS in Civil Engineering or related certifications (NICET, PE, CCM, PMP) or 5 additional years of experience. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of rail transit project experience and project records.
• HS Diploma/Equivalent; at least one of NICET III/IV, PE/RA, CCM, PMP, or a BS in Civil Engineering, or 5 additional years of Office Engineering experience.
• Excellent organization and communication skills; ability to multi-task.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project software as needed.

Responsibilities

• Document control, submittal and deliverable tracking, and project logs maintenance.
• Utilize owner-provided Construction Management software.
• Prepare meeting minutes, letters and project correspondences.
• Review inspector daily reports for accuracy.
• Coordinate with contractor and owner to expedite submittals and reviews.
• Track contractor/consultant insurance submissions and expiries.
• Track and report on MBE/WBE/DBE/SDVOB utilization.
• Track consultant and contractor trainings; draft change orders as needed.
• Assist with monthly progress reports and project meetings.
• Support Resident Engineer and Project Manager; ensure project execution and close-out.
