Actalent is seeking a Civil Engineer / Project Engineer to lead conceptual, permitting, and final design for major rail and transit projects in New York City. The role focuses on transportation, highway, roadway, and stormwater infrastructure, delivering high-quality engineering design services in compliance with codes and standards.

You will prepare specifications, cost estimates, and engineering studies across project stages, with responsibilities spanning design, reports, and client

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience designing infrastructure, roadway, highway, and transit projects.
• Experience with rail and transit design in urban environments.
• Experience on projects for public agencies (DOT, DDC, DEP) or similar.
• Ability to independently handle civil design tasks for transportation and stormwater systems.
• Proficient in civil design and modeling tools like Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual, permitting, and final design for rail and transit projects in NYC.
• Develop studies and reports for multiple project phases.
• Prepare technical specifications and construction cost estimates.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Support project management and client coordination.
