Job summary

A leading engineering firm in New York is seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer with experience in rail transit infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 4-8 years of experience in structural design. Responsibilities include performing structural analysis and design for various rail transit projects, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with local standards. A PE license in New York is preferred. This role is essential for developing safe and efficient transportation structures.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of experience in structural design.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in rail transit or transportation infrastructure projects in New York.
• Familiarity with MTA / NYCT design standards is highly preferred.
• PE license in New York (preferred or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for rail transit projects including stations, platforms, and bridges.
• Prepare structural calculations, design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, MEP, and architectural teams.
• Ensure designs comply with NYCDOT, MTA, LIRR, or NJ Transit standards.
• Review shop drawings and contractor submittals.
