Job summary

Union Pacific Corporation is seeking Welder Helpers to maintain railroad tracks, repair and replace components, and support welding tasks across North America. The role requires a valid CDL (Class A or B), strong English communication, and the ability to meet FMCSA medical qualifications.

Responsibilities include performing track repairs, handling ballast, operating spike-driving equipment, and ensuring safety standards under FRA regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English and pass an assessment.
• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and CDL (Class A or B).
• Ability to comprehend and apply regulations and instructions.
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform track maintenance activities such as repairs and installations.
• Utilize load/unload devices to handle track materials.
• Monitor track conditions and right-of-way compliance.
• Operate equipment to drive spikes and adjust track bolts.
• Maintain trackbed and assist with ballast handling and replacement.
• Foster safe, respectful relationships with teammates and supervisors.
• Comply with FRA safety rules and procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
