Job summary

Watco Transloading seeks a Track Laborer to inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient service for customers. This is a physical role requiring training during a prescribed onboarding period.

Essential duties include inspecting and handling rail components, maintaining turnouts, and ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations. On-the-job training is provided at relevant Texas sites.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass required trainings: Track Ground School, FRA General Code of Operating Rules written test, Roadway Worker Protection written test, Fall Protection written test, Maintenance of Way safety written test, MSHA/OSHA training (if required on site).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, load/unload and install rail components and track materials.
• Inspect, grind, fabricate and repair rail and track components.
• Inspect, maintain and repair track turnouts, switch stands and infrastructure.
• Inspect and maintain track surface, gauge, tie removal and roadbed rehabilitation.
• Read and interpret company safety rules, operating instructions, and regulations.
