Job summary

Canadian Pacific Railway is seeking a Section Foreman to lead a track crew, oversee maintenance, and ensure safety and reliability of railway tracks. The role requires physical outdoor work, and flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 operations.

You will supervise crew activities, inspect tracks, and coordinate with other departments to secure access, while upholding safety policies and procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class B CDL and clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 1 year of experience supervising railroad track restoration; 2+ years in track maintenance.
• Knowledge of track standards and procedures.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate track crew activities during maintenance and repair operations.
• Inspect rails to identify defects and assess structural integrity.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed to maintain a safe workplace.
• Monitor progress of projects to meet timeframes and quality standards.
• Assist scheduling of maintenance and coordinate with departments for track access.
• Perform physically demanding outdoor labor and respond to 24/7 emergencies.
• Report progress and conditions to Roadmaster and leadership.
• Maintain clear communication across channels per safety guidelines.
