Job summary

North American Rail Solutions is seeking a Foreman I to lead daily track maintenance and construction efforts in a fast-paced outdoor setting. You will supervise field crews, review safety and quality standards, and coordinate with project managers to deliver work on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in railroad track work with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, strong leadership and reading blueprints, and a commitment to FRA compliance and safe operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' railroad/track maintenance experience; 1+ year in supervision.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Able to read blueprints and grade plans.
• Knowledge of FRA regulations and track maintenance standards.
• Proficient with basic computer applications.
• Experience operating heavy equipment safely.
• Professional, reliable, and safety-conscious.
• Willing to learn and adapt to changing requirements.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily crew activities and safety briefings.
• Delegate tasks based on crew capabilities and assist with labor.
• Perform inspections and quality checks on work.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment safely.
• Read and interpret blueprints and grade plans.
• Monitor site safety and enforce PPE and FRA rules.
• Maintain reports, timesheets, logs, and docs.
• Mentor crew members and promote safety culture.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in incident reporting.
• Communicate with project managers and clients to coordinate schedules.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
