Job summary

Canadian Pacific Railway is seeking a Section Foreman to lead a track crew and oversee maintenance for safety and reliability across our rail network. You will supervise tasks, inspect tracks, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.

This hands-on leadership role requires flexibility for non-traditional shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, across all weather conditions in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 21 years of age minimum.
• Valid Class B CDL and/or equivalent driving credential required.
• 1 year minimum overseeing railroad track restoration.
• 2+ years track maintenance experience, especially in main terminal areas.
• Knowledge of track standards and procedural circulars is expected.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform demanding outdoor labor.
• Commitment to safety policies and proper PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate track crew activities during maintenance and repair.
• Inspect rail tracks regularly to identify defects and assess integrity.
• Uphold safety regulations to maintain a safe workplace and prevent accidents.
• Monitor progress of construction and maintenance projects against timelines and quality standards.
• Support maintenance scheduling and coordinate with other departments for track access.
• Perform outdoor labor in all weather, with 24/7 emergency callouts possible.
• Report progress and track conditions to Roadmaster and leadership.
• Maintain clear communication across teams while following safety guidelines.
