Job summary

Canadian Pacific Railway (CPKC) seeks an Assistant Roadmaster to safeguard track infrastructure and ensure safe, reliable train service across the assigned area. You will work with the Roadmaster to deliver cost-efficient engineering solutions while complying with FRA standards.

This safety-sensitive role includes a $10,000 signing bonus for qualified candidates and opportunities for training, development, and advancement within a North American railroad.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 2+ years of railroad experience in track maintenance & renewal.
• Minimum of 1 year leading track renewal crews.
• Proficiency with railway track safety rules.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining agreement.
• On-call rotation every other week for 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Roadmaster in enforcing safety practices among direct reports.
• Contribute to compliance, service, and financial outcomes.
• Coordinate emergency responses and seasonal plans for severe events.
• Manage employees per the collective agreement and resolve disputes.
• Document information to guide capital planning priorities.
• Oversee QA for Track Programs and Equipment projects.
• Ensure alignment with FRA regulatory processes.
