Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill a Field Service Technician in Chicago, IL to support service and maintenance of SIEMENS CHARGER locomotives, collaborate with customers, and train their maintenance personnel.

This role requires an Associate’s degree or 2+ years of experience, ability to travel up to 10%, and strong English communication; shift includes early or late hours and weekend in 5-day week. Siemens offers health, dental, vision, and other benefits, plus development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical technology or 2+ years of electrical/mechanical experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical (AC/DC), mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings and document findings.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality technical advice to customer maintenance teams to improve Charger fleet reliability.
• Deliver timely troubleshooting and repair support for service requests.
• Provide ongoing system operation training for customers.
• Identify non-conformance issues and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with customer staff, Rail Support Center, and field team on communications.
• Work with 3rd party vendors to ensure proper operation of components.
