Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to support the HSE Management System for a rail operations project. The role requires collaboration with leaders and employees to drive risk reduction and compliance with FTA, OSHA, GBMS, and local procedures.

The position is contract-based, onsite in Pearl City, HI, with a 6pm–2am shift and a 3–4 month duration. Key tasks include developing and maintaining the HSE system, conducting risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and delivering

Qualifications

• Proven experience in health, safety and environmental practices within operational or project settings.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and application to safety programs.
• Experience implementing and improving HSE management systems.
• Ability to identify hazards and conduct risk assessments with appropriate controls.
• Experience supporting HSE audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication for safety meetings and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, implement and continually improve the HSE management system for the project.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, regulatory requirements and customer standards.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and define control measures.
• Plan and execute HSE audits and verification activities.
• Develop and implement HSE programs to meet objectives and milestones.
• Promote HSE communication and involvement at the site level, including safety committees.
• Prepare and deliver safety meetings and presentations to diverse audiences.
• Report, investigate, and analyze HSE incidents and implement corrective actions.
